These articles are presented in chronological order. Most were found in online archives as scans of newspaper and magazine articles. Many have been transcribed by hand and if there is a photograph available, it was probably “cleaned up” using Photoshop. In some cases, obvious spelling errors have been corrected as well as punctuation problems. The articles’ focus was kept on Julie London if there were multiple subjects. All of the links are to pages on this web site.
The topics range from marriage to divorce, from fashion style to album and club performance reviews. The 1972 article about Julie in TV Guide is perhaps the most politically incorrect thing I’ve read in years. Hence, it’s my favorite. You need to check that one out. The other article I love, is the 1966 article titled “Julie Stars in the Kitchen, Too.” How this beautiful woman maintained her drop-dead-gorgeous figure by including bacon fat as the key ingredient in virtually every recipe is a testament to her superior genetics.
Fifty-one years after her debut album was released, music writers, who weren’t born then are still falling in love with it. Take a walk with Julie as her career and life progresses.
